Namaste: What does it mean?

I recently received this email from a friend, and felt the deep peace and calm that accompanied these words. This is also what Reiki feels like to me...

I honor the Place in You in which the entire Universe dwells.
I honor the Place in You which is of love, of truth, of light and of peace.
When you are in that Place in You and I am in that Place in me, we are One.

Receiving Reiki from Nature: Our Planet Earth

A Reiki treatment doesn't have to come from a practitioner, though that is nice. Reiki comes from the natural motion of the universe. By just enjoying the variety of Nature, you are entering into the flow where Reiki comes from.

So if you can't get to the beach or the desert today, here's a bit coming to visit you at your computer.

Australia's Only Therapeutic Harpist on Sounding Circles Radio today

Aloha everyone!

Join me today as I interview Alison Ware, Australia's only therapeutic harpist. On Sounding Circles Radio, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time.

Call in and ask questions: 877-230-3062

The harp is an ancient instrument and has long been associated with the healing arts. In its modern form, Therapeutic Harp Music is live, acoustic music played at the bedside of patients in hospitals/healthcare facilities or private homes. It is offered as a non invasive adjunct to medical care.

The purpose of Therapeutic Harp music is neither to entertain nor to give a performance. The intention is to promote healing (not curing) by bringing balance between body, mind and spirit. The emphasis is service and is patient focused.

Therapeutic Harp Music is based on the science of sound. It is specifically tailored to each patient and helps provide an environment conducive to the healing process. Therapeutic Harp Music sessions usually last between 20-40 minutes.

"In a world where stress is a constant, invite the gentleness of the Harp to soothe you." -- Alison Ware, certified therapeutic harpist

Hope you will join us...

Reiki blessings and aloha to you,
Cymber Lily

Reiki is based in Nature...see Reiki in action

The Art of Reiki, the art of giving comfort to others, is based in ancient Shinto beliefs about the natural world. It is sometimes difficult to see the natural world around us because it it moving at the same speed that we are. But using time-lapse photography, you can see Nature's energy at play.

Now, imagine receiving a Reiki session -- by harp or hands -- and do your own time-lapse movie in your mind. How much healing can happen? How beautiful can it be?

Ancient Stringed Instrument - Replica being played

Early Harp in Europe Found on Skye

"This [harp or lyre] is an incredible find and it clearly demonstrates how our ancestors were using music and ritual in their lives. The evidence shows that Skye was a gathering place over generations and that it obviously had an important role to play in the celebration and ritual of life more than 2,000 years ago.”

Visualizing and Allowing Health and Wellness

Today, I was teaching my student who is visiting from Texas for the whole month. She asked if it was better to visualize destroying diseased cells, or to visualize health. Cancer research shows that people who visualize health and balance are much more likely to recover, than those who visualize destroying the cells.

Then I found this quote from Abraham-Hicks in my email box today, and thought I would share this with you.

In your world today there are countless action remedies, medicines, surgeries, and exercises offered—but there are not enough actions in the world to compensate for Vibrational resistance. Our daily meditations will provide a basis, or nucleus, for physical improvement; and it will also enhance any other treatments and remedies that you may already be involved in.

Since every disease or unwanted condition exists because Well-Being is being disallowed, then, in the absence of that disallowance, Well-Being will return.

It is a common thing for people to begin to lean in the direction of recovery, only to stop and take score too soon. And when they still find unwanted symptoms or conditions, they then offer resistant thought and lose the improved ground they have gained. With consistent releasing of resistance, all unwanted conditions will subside, returning you to your natural state of Well-Being.

Reiki meditation, Reiki treatments, Reiki music at Reiki Healing Harp by Cymber Lily Quinn
Reiki World Peace Symbols have been placed around the planet and contain
important symbols from many belief systems.

Because so many of you forwarded this email to your friends, there have been almost 277,000 downloads of the World Peace Cards. This is a tremendous increase in the number of people using the cards. So far the total number of World Peace Card sets downloaded, received from our free offer and from our magazine has been nearly 292,000! I hope you have been using your peace cards as their use brings blessings to the world as well as to you.

The next World Peace Card group meditation has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 7:30pm. This is local time in your time zone. This method has been chosen because of the special effect it produces. As people meditate in each successive time zone the energy builds like a wave which gets stronger and stronger as it circles the planet. Because of the higher dimensional nature of consciousness, the energy of peace will be transmitted for a full 24 hours and continue long after this.

Reports from those who took part in the previous meditations indicate many had powerful spiritual experiences. As they united with those taking part in the meditation a feeling of peace developed within that stayed with each for a long time. Some saw beautiful golden light surrounding the planet and others felt that a web of fear was dissipating and being replaced with trust in others and for our future.

All those who have received the cards are being asked to meditate on world peace at this time. By taking part in this group meditation, you’ll be joining thousands of people who will be using the cards to bring peace to the world. By joining together, the affect we have will be greatly multiplied. This powerful experience and will help shift the vibration of our wonderful planet into a higher state of consciousness. As you use the cards to meditate on world peace, you will be a beacon through which peace will spread around the planet which will have a positive uplifting effect on all people.

Please set aside this time to meditate with the cards. The suggested meditation period is 15 minutes, but of course you can meditate longer if you’d like to. The technique I’d like you to use is based on allowing yourself to be a beacon of peace. The World Peace Cards hold the vibration of the World Peace Grids which have been placed at spiritually significant locations and are relay stations for higher consciousness. By simply opening to their energy, you’ll become a channel for their love and peace which will flow through you to all the people on Earth. To do this, hold the cards in your hands or place them in front of you. Then simply meditate on peace.

We are entering a new era. Our entire planet including all the people and living things are moving into a place where it will be much easier to solve our problems and to create peace, prosperity and happiness for everyone. The World Peace Card meditation will quicken this process, making it easier for people to experience this new quality of higher consciousness and will provide great benefit for all people. Since this benefit will be flowing through you out to everyone on the planet, you'll be blessed by this experience as well.

Many have received the cards in the mail or in the Reiki News Magazine while others have downloaded them from our web site. If you would like additional copies of the cards, please download them using this link and print as many copies as you can use. Please feel free to give them to your friends. Also, forward this email to anyone you feel would like to take part in the meditation.

Note: This is a larger file and it may take several minutes for it to open, so please be patient.
When printing the cards from this file, print page 2 first, then place this page in your printer and print the image of the peace grids on the back.
Thank you for taking part in this group meditation.

Imaginary Interview with Reiki Founder Usui Mikao

Our featured guest for the Imaginary Interview:
Master Usui
Sometimes when I need an answer, I go into the meditation space, and imagine a conversation with the person who might most be able to help me. In this post, I thought I would share this process with you, and have an imaginary conversation with Master Usui, the founder of today's modern Reiki traditions.

Q: Master Usui, tell us a little about your childhood and your education?

A: I was born in 1865, the year the American Civil War ended, in the Yamagata District near present day Nagoya. I grew up in a normal family with parents, two brothers and a sister, Tsuru. My brother, Sanya, became a doctor, and my other brother, Kuniji, became a policeman.

My anscestors were the once influential Chiba clan, and were Hatamoto samurai. I, myself, received samurai training, called akiki-jutsu.

I became a Buddhist, but loved the Shinto and Taoist traditions, and traveled the world including Europe, Americas, China, and Asia. I was studying history, medicine, Buddhism, Christianity, psychology and Taoism.

Q: What is the Purpose of a Reiki practice?

A: Originally, Reiki was a spiritual practice, designed to help people reach enlightenment. No beliefs are required because Reiki works whether you believe in it or not, just as electricity works whether you believe in it or not.

As students reached deeper levels of their Reiki practice, they began experiencing significant improvements in their health in their physical, mental, and emotional health as well. Because of the benefits to daily living, some people came to study Reiki purely for its health benefits.

When Mrs. Hawayo Takata (named for your home state of Hawaii) brought Reiki to Hawaii and the West, she was bringing the healing aspects. She had experienced tremendous healing through the use of Reiki. In her case, enlightenment was a side-effect of her healing journey. Reiki had come full circle.

Do you have a question to ask Master Usui in an Imaginary Interview? Let me know, and I'll include in in a future Imaginary Interview with Master Usui.

My Love Affair with Reiki

About 10 years ago, my life came crashing down around me. It was shocking in its thoroughness and magnitude. In a short period of time, I lost my job in a sexual discrimination snafu. I got divorced. Not only found I was infertile but that I needed a hysterectomy to be comfortable in my body.  I got re-married. My step-daughter died in a motorcycle accident. We sold everything and traveled by RV, and moved to Hawaii.

Then my health collapsed. I got a headache that would not stop. It did not respond to Western medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic, massage. Nothing. I learned a lot along the way, and I cleaned up my body and my health choices along the way.

Then Reiki arrived in my life. And it was so gentle.

So gentle, in fact, that I didn't notice at first. But Reiki is persistent and patient.

Gradually, as I received Reiki from a practitioner, I noticed that my thoughts were less about blaming myself for not being healthy enough, and moving toward the ideas that I could bring myself back into balance.

And that is what has happened, and continues to happen. Over the course of a year, I took the training to become a Reiki Master, and I found myself becoming more balanced and healthy in my head and heart than I have been in my life.

When I first started practicing Reiki, I had to discipline myself to do 5 minutes every day. Now I apply Reiki to all my life -- meditation, driving in town, talking with friends, playing music, and relaxing.

My love affair with Reiki is one that brings me great peace and joy, and I'm thrilled to be able to share it with others...

Reiki Tip: What is Reiki?

Reiki is the Universal Life Force energy that can be directed through human hands into concentrated doses to relax the body, mind, heart, and spirit and allow natural healing.

You deliver Reiki when you comfort someone. When you kiss a boo-boo. When you hold a friend when she is grieving. This is Reiki. You give Reiki when you comfort a scared dog and sing to your plants. You give Reiki when you pay for someone else's toll, let someone else go first, smile at a stranger.

A Reiki practitioner has been trained and entrained to deliver this energy of comfort in concentrated doses. Think of it as Love on Steroids. Reiki can be applied many ways, mostly commonly hands-on delivery. Some share Reiki through artwork, and I like to share Reiki through music and videos.

Reiki Music, Reiki Treatments, Reiki Harp, Reiki Symbols
Reiki is the art of giving comfort. It is a folk art, which means that anyone is capable of doing it.
Reiki practitioners learn how to give it in concentrated doses.

Reiki Music...a YouTube meditation

As Reiki practitioners and energy healers -- whether you have received formal training or not -- it's always helpful and handy to have a place where you can relax and put your feet up.

After lots of teaching and session work, it's nice to receive the flow of Reiki yourself. YouTube offers many lovely Reiki music videos, little retreats from the day. Here's one from the artist, Llewellyn.

Let me know about your favorite Reiki videos and music. I'd love to share them with others.
